Deleting a Custom Component
You can delete a custom component only from the Components tab on the Global Component & License Lookup tab. When a custom component is deleted, it’s immediately deleted or removed from the Code Insight database. In addition, all associations related to that custom component are automatically deleted.
All existing inventory items that referenced the deleted custom component are updated to the Work In Progress type. The deletion activity is also recorded in the Inventory History window for each inventory item—referenced the deleted custom component—for audit purposes.
To delete a custom component, you need to perform a global custom component search from the Components tab on the Global Component & License Lookup tab. For more details on how to perform a global search for a required component, see Exploring Components Globally.
Once you have a required custom component (you want to delete) in the grid below your search criterion on the Global Component & License Lookup > Components tab, click the Delete Component icon in the Actions column for the custom component you want to delete. Note that the Delete Component icon is available only to users assigned the Library Manager role.
