Applying AI-Suggested Licenses to Inventory Items

To automatically assign licenses to inventory items that either do not have a license or have dual licenses, you can use the Apply AI License button in the Inventory Items pane on the Analysis Workbench. This feature leverages license data curated through AI-based techniques from the Project Data Library (PDL).

To apply AI licenses:

  1. Open the Analysis Workbench for the desired project.

  2. In the Inventory Items pane, review the list of inventory items.

  3. Click Apply AI License.

    Code Insight uses the AI-curated license data from the PDL to assign the most suitable license to each applicable inventory item.

After the license is applied, the inventory name is automatically updated to reflect the newly assigned license.

AI-based license curation is currently available only for inventory items originating from the GitHub forge.
