License Compliance
The following enhancements have been added to the License Management feature.
View inventory items that are licensed under a commercial license
This enhancement makes it easier to understand your commercial license exposure across detected components. You can now:
-
See a clear Commercial (Yes/No) attribute in license details for each inventory item
-
Filter inventories in Advanced Search by commercial vs. open source licenses
-
Access the commercial flag via the REST API as part of the license data model
These improvements help you quickly identify which components are licensed for commercial use, assess your overall commercial license exposure, and support ongoing license compliance efforts.
License Obligations dialog for open source components
Introduced a dedicated License Obligations dialog that summarizes what you can do, must do, and cannot do under an open source license when reviewing a component in Code Insight. You can open this view from inventory or component details for components with a recognized license, giving you a clear, actionable overview of obligations without reading full legal texts. If a license is not recognized or obligations cannot be determined, the License Obligations action is disabled.
View policy usage
Users can now see where a license is used directly from Global Component & License Lookup. A new View policy usage action opens a list of all policies that use the selected license, showing each policy’s name, configured action, and last updated date. Licenses that are not used by any policy are clearly indicated. Policy administrators have permission to select a policy and open its edit policy page.
