Task Management

The following enhancements have been added to the Task Management feature.

Ability to create Jira work items from Code Insight, including support for Jira custom fields​

You can now configure Code Insight to create Jira work items without hard‑coding project‑specific details, and with proper handling of Jira custom fields.

Key capabilities:

  • Simplified ALM/Jira configuration

    When the target project is selected from a project dropdown, the fields are auto populated dynamically from Jira.

  • Project‑aware issue creation

    • After choosing a project and issue type, Code Insight automatically:

      • Retrieves the Jira issue type definition for that project.

      • Identifies which fields are required for that issue type.

      • Displays only the required fields in the configuration UI (optional fields are hidden to reduce noise).

    • All supported Jira field types are handled appropriately:

      • Text fields: shown with label and an empty input when there is no default value in Jira.

      • Picklists / combo boxes: show all available options, with the Jira default pre‑selected when applicable.

      • The same behavior applies for other Jira field types supported by the Jira APIs used.

  • Support for custom and mandatory Jira fields

    • Custom required fields (for example, priority, assignee, or other project‑specific fields) are automatically detected and presented.

    • This ensures that work items created from Code Insight satisfy Jira’s validation rules for the selected project and issue type.

  • Improved defaults for Summary and Description

  • The Summary and Description fields are still shown with their existing default text and variables.

  • This lets you keep or refine current templates while gaining flexibility with other required fields.

Dedicated Tasks page for centralized task management​

You can now use a dedicated Tasks page to view and manage all tasks in one place. The page shows key metrics such as total open tasks and your open tasks, with a breakdown by priority. You can filter and search tasks by status, priority, and ownership so that you can quickly find what you need. You can also act on existing ones directly from the page to streamline your workflow.
