Custom Detection Rules

The following enhancement related to managing custom detection rules is now available.

Enhanced Custom Detection Rules Tab to Manage Detection Rules

Starting in this release, the Custom Detection Rules tab on the Data Library page has been enhanced with new action buttons that allow users to delete, deactivate, and reactivate custom detection rules. This enhancement provides greater flexibility and control in managing custom detection rules within the system.

The following buttons have been introduced on the Custom Detection Rules tab:

  • Delete Rules - Clicking this button enables you to permanently delete or remove the selected custom detection rules from the Code Insight system. Those deleted or removed rules will no longer be applied during any scan in the Code Insight system. |

    note

In previous releases, the  icon was available in the Actions column for each custom detection rule entry to perform rule deletion when required. Starting in this release, the  icon has been removed and the Delete Rules button has been introduced for improved usability.

  • Disable Rules - Clicking this button enables you to temporarily deactivate or disable the selected custom detection rule. Those deactivated or disabled rules will not be applied during any scan in the Code Insight system until they are reactivated.

  • Enable Rules - Clicking this button enables you to reactivate or re-enable the selected custom detection rule that was previously disabled---only after validating that the associated component, version, and license still exist in the Code Insight Data Library.

note

The Delete Rules, Disable Rules, and Enable Rules buttons are enabled only to users assigned the Library Manager role.
